In order to ensure rational packaging Totem shelf design utilizes nesting principle where smaller modules can precisely fit into the larger ones. Final assembly has coherent form thanks to the slanted sides and gradual shrinkage of modules. Resulting geometry has serene and rhythmic appearance that works well in a wide variety of interior settings, standing next to a wall or free in space.

   In this design we were investigating the geometry of nesting boxes which is a rational packaging principle. In order to achieve consistent form of the assembled design lateral sides need to be tiled at the exact angle. Assembling the shelf modules

In this design we were investigating the geometry of nesting boxes which is a rational packaging principle. In order to achieve consistent form of the assembled design lateral sides need to be tiled at the exact angle. Assembling the shelf modules upwards creates a harmonious stepped structure which has a suitable shape to be positioned by the wall or freely in space.

 High precision is needed in order to produce Totem from solid wood. Delicate angles, fine alignment of the joints and wood grain all require fine woodworking skills.
